Country Twang With A Touch of Paris

Growing up in the South has contributed to my love of two things: country music & southern style. I'm not talking about preppy southern like Vineyard Vines and Lilly Pulitzer; I'm talkin' oversized flannels, overalls, chunky belts, & flared jeans. I'm more of a country twang kinda gal, rather than a southern belle. But like all of the other styles I try out, I love mixing things up and adding my own little eclectic touch to it.

I've been itching to try this beret trend that everyone's been doing lately, but every damn beret that I've tried on in the past just looked wrong on my head. I DON'T KNOW WHY. I just could never pull it off; which is weird because I'm usually that friend that can pull off any trend. But today I popped into Forema boutique on Park Ave, saw a beret, and said You know what, I am gonna get this beret and I am going to make it work, lmao. Sure enough, it actually looked good on me this time. I think it's because my hair is short now and it just looked weird with my long hair. Paris is one of my all time favorite places and definitely where I get a lot of my style inspiration, so I figured why not combine two of my favorite styles! I actually really dig the look. Let me know if you like the Southern style with a Parisian twist!

I go back to Colorado in 3 days and I'm reaaallly excited, yet reaaally nervous for the cold. I know it's been pretty chilly in Florida recently, but I can't even fathom having to walk to class in 17 degree weather!! Gonna soak up as much of the sun and "warm" weather as much as I can in these next few days.
