In case you don't follow me on Twitter, Snapchat (mandadimarco), or Instagram, I was in NYC this past weekend!! My mom & I went up for an impromptu girls trip (one we usually take every summer) & had a fabulous time. If you haven't already, go check out my NYC weekend video to see all of the fun things we did & cool places we went! If you have already seen it, well, just keep reading to hear all the details behind the video!
As soon as we touched down in NYC, we took a cab to the hotel, dropped our bags off, & headed straight to Soul Cycle! After we worked our booty's off, we grabbed some juices at Joe & the Juice & switched paces at a relaxing Korean spa. Following the most amazing spa day, we went to Jesse Tyler Gerguson's one man act, Fully Committed, & grabbed some guac & chips for din at Dos Caminos!
Soul Cycle w/ Akin: Soul Cycle is a cycling studio that will change your perspective on not only cycling, but cardio in general. Combining spinning, dance, music, & spirituality, Soul Cycle will make you feel. If you love working out & bettering your mind & body, this is your kinda place. Akin is also one of the most well-known & amazing soul cycle instructors, so it was kind of a treat to take his class! And also intense, really intense lol.
Joe & the Juice: My mom & I just discovered this cute juice cafe on this trip & were obsessed. The cafe itself has a trendy, chill vibe to it (even though it was busy the entire day), seating & wifi, & also serves sandwiches & coffee! But the juice... was on some other shiz. Too good.
Juvenex Spa: no words. If you haven't already been to a Korean spa, all I can say is go. It is amazingly life-changing. And quick disclaimer: nude is the norm there. Lol.
Fully Committed: Jesse Tyler Ferguson stars in a one-man act that is so fast-paced & undeniably hilarious. If you love comedy, go & prepare to be laughing the whole duration of the play.
Dos Caminos: The best place to grab Mexican food EVER. My fam & I always hit this restaurant up when we're in the city (I wonder if they have other locations around the country?). From the food, the ambience, the margs... (lol), it's just all around great. But especially the ambience cause when you're in the city, a nice ambience is a must.
We woke up bright and early to grab some breakfast in the hotel lobby, The Crosby, & catch a 9:30 am workout class at KORE. On the walk back from KORE, we grabbed some tea at Dean & Deluca & went back to the hotel to get ready for our shopping day. We stopped for a quick bite at Sarabeths & then hit lululemon, Bergdorfs, Saks, & a couple little soho boutiques. After a long day, we got ready & headed to Chef's Club for dinner. We decided to hit up the rooftop bar at the James hotel to see that one of a kind New York skyline after dinner & then called it a night.
The Crosby: A beautiful & trendy boutique-esque hotel in Soho with again, an amazing ambiance. Service's goal is to make you feel at home & they truly do just that. If you're familiar with the city you know that a decent sized hotel room is hard to come by, but at the Crosby the rooms are impressively spacious.
KORE: So, this is a high intensity interval training workout studio in the city. When my mom & I went, the workout was focused around a full body strength workout with little-to-no cardio (dumbells & bandwork, too). Not my personal preference, as I like a workout more centered around cardio, but it was definitely awesome for strength building. Let me just say I did this on Friday & my legs are still sore, lol.
Dean & Deluca: Apparently they have locations in Napa as well as the city, but this was my first time going to a Dean & Deluca store. It's almost like a fresh market or whole foods, but more options & more grab and go items for sure. Super minimalistic & clean look to the store which I absolutely love.
Sarabeths: Cute little American food restaurant in the city. We sat outside at the one by Central Park & it was such a beautiful sight. Yummy lunches & I've heard they have great breakfast as well!
Chef's Club:My mom was recommended to go here by our friend who works at The Crosby & it most definitely did not disappoint! The restaurant itself was very nice & had an open kitchen so you could see the chef's cooking. I personally love open kitchens because it brings a whole new feel to the restaurant. Food was super fresh tasting & just down right delicious.
Rooftop bar at the James Hotel:So, if you ever get up to the city, getting to some type of rooftop bar is a must. Nothing beats that NYC skyline- especially during the night when the city is wide awake & the lights are twinkling from every direction.
On Saturday, we woke up around 8 am & did a Soul Cycle class before we had to leave for Orlando. After Soul Cycle we grabbed some breaky at the chicest vegetarian cafe, The Butcher's Daughter, then grabbed a cab to the airport.
Soul Cycle w/ Samantha:Can you tell we like love Soul Cycle? We had Samantha as our instructor this time around & I absolutely adored her! The instructors are just so motivating in their own unique way; you leave feeling more & more inspired each time.
The Butcher's Daughter:The most adorable plant-based cafe in the city with the best juices & prettiest decor! If you love breaky, definitely give this place a try.. & usually I would say sit outside, but the inside might even be prettier!!
ALSO, GUYS. I'm thinking of filming an NYC haul where I'll show you all what I got while shopping OR doing my first ever giveaway with a super awesome accessory I got at a Soho artists market! Which one would y'all like to see first?! Let me know in the comments!!
